New Changes to ACP Membership Categories

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

The Australasian College of Phlebology held its Annual General Meeting on November 1st 2014.  We are pleased to announce that the proposed changes to the membership categories have been passed. This has restructured the membership model with the elimination of the Associate membership. Current Associate Members will maintain their membership until the end of the year and may apply to join the College under other categories if applicable. This category was considered misleading implying additional training in phlebology and clearly jeopardised the College requirements to gain Australian Medical Council recognition as a specialist College.

Other changes include the introduction of the new Trainee membership and International Fellowship categories. Furthermore, the Category ‘Ordinary Member’ has been re-named ‘Certified Sclerotherapist’ to recognise the additional training and certification obtained by these professionals. These changes will be applicable as of January 2015.

With Kind Regards,

Kurosh Parsi

President
