Phlebology Emergency Crisis Management Course

PHLEBOLOGY EMERGENCY CRISIS MANAGEMENT (PECM)

The ACP will be conducting the next Phlebology Emergency Crisis Management (PECM) Workshop on the 17 March 2015.

Participants receive intensive hands-on training on models using high fidelity immersive simulation, skills and drills training, problem-based learning, group discussion and other training methods.

The course covers management of potential emergencies encountered in phlebology practice, including; chest pain, anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction and acute respiratory failure, local anaesthetic toxicity, advanced cardiac life support, defibrillation, synchronised DC cardioversion, bag and mask ventilation, insertion of guedels, insertion of laryngeal masks and intubation.

The ACP is in the process of introducing compulsory Procedural Accreditation for Fellows performing EVLA and UGS. This course (or equivalent ACLS certificate) will be an important credentialing requirement of Fellows performing these procedures on an outpatient basis.
